Nazi-era art dealer’s treasure trove debuts in Europe

Nazi-era art dealer’s treasure trove debuts in Europe

It’s an art collection like no other because it’s collected like no other.

Hundreds of pieces of art are now on display from a spectacular stash that was once hoarded by the son of a Nazi-era dealer. The artworks, including masterpieces by Monet and Rodin, are being shown for the first time since World War II this year as part of parallel exhibitions in Switzerland and Germany.

All of the exhibits were seized by the Nazis during World War II in a methodical program directed by German dealer Hildebrand Gurlitt. He led the task of poaching art from Jewish families and selling art defamed as “degenerate” overseas.

It’s a display that now sheds light on the darkest chapters of Nazi Germany, says art director Nina Zimmer.

“How they persecuted artists and art they did not like and how they did this systematically,” Zimmer says.

The works may never have been stumbled upon during a routine tax investigation at a nondescript address in Munich.

Hildebrand’s reclusive son, Cornelius Gurlitt, had hidden away a trove. The priceless Rodin sitting near a potted plant and the monet hanging on a wall.

The Rodin found in Munich
The exhibition has raised morale and ethical issues over the art’s true provenance and inspections.

Project director Andrea Baresel-Brand says that the shows can act as something of a lost and found.

“Through the broad media coverage of the exhibitions of course a wider public is reached and maybe somebody recognizes something,” Baresel-Brand says.

Even conservative estimates of the collections have been reunited with their rightful owners.

Why Blogging is Important to Marketing Your Home Trading Circle

Blogging is important because of several reasons. First, blogs let you build relationships with your prospects more easily than calling. The prospect of a cool call is not the best way to foster commerce. The reason why the cool call is not good is because the prospect does not recognize you. In addition, the prospects do not want to be bothered by phone calls, especially during dinner. A blog gives you the prospect of reading about you and your work, then deciding if they want to work with you or not. If the customer would know more about you, they lowered their bodyguards. The more blogs you have, the more learning prospects. The more they learn, the more likely they will join you.

The second reason why blogs are important is because blogs prove you as a powerful party. When people make the decision to start a home business, they want to start with someone who knows how to do this business. Most new beginners do not want to call for leads and prospects at shopping centers. In addition, prospects do not want to call friends and family. With blogging, you may offer alternative solutions to help business associates recruit workers instead of using old school tactics.

The third reason why blogging is so important to a home-based business is because it helps you to generate prospects faster and easier. Instead of chasing prospects to accompany your MLM, why is not there a prospect of chasing you? If you had a steady flow, you put your position for a better glory.

The fourth reason why blogging is so important to your chain marketing business is that blogs will market your profile more impressively. The more your market, the more exposure you will receive. Marketing is very important for your business. Remember, you are in circuit marketing. Do 95% of home business owners do market their opportunities. As a result, prospects ignore the net worker relationships unknown to the unknown.

In conclusion, having a blog is a must for your home based marketing business. Instead of putting yourself as a leader, you will increase your registration and sales.

Selecting the Right End Profile

Selecting the Right End Profile

When the time comes to remodel your kitchen, one of the biggest decisions you should make is what to use for your counter boss. Butcher blocks, laminate, granite, marble, and counter quartz counters are just a few of your choices at Johns Creek. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages, including price and durability. Once you select your top counter, you will need to choose what you want to crawl like. Choosing an edge profile can be almost as difficult as choosing a counter top, so let’s look at the options.

Eased Edge – The subsiding edge is the bottom edge which has only a dull sharp angle to give it a smooth, rounded edge. It is usually supplied with a counter over charge.
Bevel – The beveled edge will have a 45 degree viewing angle across the top edge of the counter. You can usually choose from a variety of sizes, such as quarter inch or half inch. A smaller size will often be a free option while a larger bevel may be additional. Selecting the Right End Profile
Bullnose – The bullnose edges are completely round from top to bottom. Instead of a tight curve, a full bullnose will create a slow and gentle drug from the top of the table to the bottom. The other option is a half bullnose, which just circles the top edge and not the entire edge. Both of these options are generally additional costs due to the work required.
Ogee – Ogee is probably one of the most complicated ends for your desk. This is a gentle slope that is hard to describe without pictures. French Ogee is even more complicated and has a more straightforward part to give the impression of luxury that can certainly distinguish your boss. This edge will always incur additional costs, especially for stone counters, due to the labor required to create them. Selecting the Right End Profile

Choosing the right edge profile for the new counter tops is just as important as choosing the top right counter by yourself. Whether you decide on a butcher block or quartz counter counter at Johns Creek, your next decision is the tip. A top counter professional will be able to walk you through the process and show examples of each type of counter and edge. They will make sure that you get the best top profile and the best edge for your home. Selecting the Right End Profile

3 Reasons to Use an Experienced Gas Piping Repair Plumber

3 Reasons to Use an Experienced Gas Piping Repair Plumber

Many people think of a plumber when there are water issues in their home. Not many will think of one when they need natural gas piping repair. Marietta gas plumbers will install or repair gas lines for water heaters, furnaces and even a fireplace or outdoor grill. There are a few major differences between a plumber working on the water pipes and the gas pipes.

License and Training

In plumbing, the water or gas will travel through the pipes looking to level itself out. Each of them will also exploit any holes in the pipes to escape. Because the water is denser, it will always flow downhill. Gas, on the other hand, will look to rise above the surrounding air. These are just a few of the differences that a gas plumber encounters. Through training and experience, gas plumbers will understand how the gas works and be able to comprehend better the ordinances regulating how the gas is used. Many local municipalities will require a gas plumber to be licensed and certified to work with gas lines. This will be obtained through classwork as well as in-field experience. A master license for either a gas or water plumber signifies someone with extensive training. Master plumbers are often the ones training new plumbers.

Tools

While the concepts are the same, gas and water plumbing use different tools and materials for installation and repair jobs. Traditionally, water lines were constructed from copper pipe while the gas lines were cast iron. This is because the sulfur that is added to the gas can corrode the inside of the copper pipe. Turns were made by attaching angle pieces to the pipes. The copper turns would be soldered on while the cast iron usually had threaded ends. A special plumbing tape is wrapped around the seals to make them airtight. A lubricant is also used to reduce friction in the connection. Newer technologies have introduced plastic and PVC type pipes in both water and gas plumbing. These pipes are easier to work with, reducing labor hours and overall cost of installation.

Exhaust

One of the most important issues with gas plumbing is exhaust. With water, the force from the supply line will move the water to the sinks or toilets and then out the drains. Any leaks are detected rather quickly. As the natural gas burns, it can release carbon monoxide into the home, causing serious illness. A gas plumber needs to have experience with exhaust to remove the carbon dioxide from the home. But carbon dioxide can also build up if it is not burned fully or if there are leaks in the lines. That is why a carbon monoxide detector is critical in homes that use natural gas.

Natural gas is one of the least expensive fuels for home heating while also being the most efficient. When dealing with gas piping repair, Marietta homeowners need to be aware of the serious nature of the natural gas and hire a master plumber experienced with natural gas.

Protect Staff
In most cases, radiological practice focuses heavily on patient protection. This is understandable right? After all, our patient entrusts us to their health. Our job is to keep them safe

But what about the staff?

While ensuring the safety of your patients, you also need to ensure the safety of your radiologist and doctor. Your staff must be sure that you are doing everything possible to protect them.

This means you should be aware of the exact collimation, positioning, and angle radiology equipment. It is important to make sure you reduce the amount of exposure your staff has. You also need to make sure your staff has the right protective equipment.

Warning signs are also important. It is helpful to remind staff about what they should do to be safe.

This is the key to a safe working radiology work environment. Along with providing reminders and protective equipment to your staff, the Radiology practice management services you need to ensure they are educated as possible. Protective equipment and warning signs will not be of much use if they do not know how to actively assure their safety.

Sometimes, radiology workers already know what equipment they need and procedures to follow. But for whatever reason, they choose not to follow the right protocol. Radiology practice management services can also be helpful. You need a system to implement the safety measures you have implemented.

Encourage Collaboration
Establishing and growing an effective radiology team requires collaboration. You must work as a team to make sure you do the best job possible. As a team, you need to be better and better at protecting your patients.

There are many ways to do this.

Implement a survey your staff can resolve to provide feedback on their performance. You have to do this every year. The best insight into your team’s functionality is the team itself. Because of those who do the work, they know what works well and what does not.

Another useful idea is to implement programs that encourage staff to report inappropriate readings. You can even include awards for those with the most exams. You should also apply a minimum level of peer review participation.

Hold a peer peer review conference with your staff. Use this to allow your staff the opportunity to learn more of the learning opportunities they find.

It may be difficult to get team members to report the team’s mistakes. That’s why you want to create a safe environment where team members can share an opportunity area for your organization.

Conclusion
Maintaining an effective radiology team is not easy, but it can be done. The key is to build a culture that focuses on continuous improvement and sense of purpose. When your team works together as a cohesive unit, you can save more lives while keeping your staff safe and happy.

Can Your Business Survive

Can Your Business Survive

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door.”
But when you’re starting your own business, there’s no guarantee that your “mousetrap” is going to survive, especially in today’s fast-paced business world.

Nearly half of all small businesses fail within the first two years of operation. The number one reason for business failure is inadequate planning. The second reason is under-capitalization.

So before you mortgage your house, or go into debt financing your business, you need to know if your business is going to do more than survive — you want to know if it’s good enough to thrive! Here are three things successful businesses that have stayed in business for five years or longer have in common:

1. The idea. A successful business start-up always starts with an idea. Something that makes your business stand out from all the rest. So how do you know if you’ve got a good idea?

You’ve probably got a good idea if you can answer yes to any of the following questions: Does your idea provide the solution to a significant problem for your target market? Does it satisfy a need or want? Does it create an opportunity?

The most successful businesses either fix problems (either real or perceived), or they increase your customer’s pleasure. They create a repeat need for a product or service among the target market.

2. The market. Your chances of survival are better if you can answer the following questions with a yes: Is there already a market for your product or service? (It’s much easier to fill a need than trying to create an entirely new market.) Can your target market afford to buy your products or services? (If they can’t afford it, it doesn’t matter how great it is, you won’t sell any!) Will your target market perceive your product or service as valuable? (If they want it, but don’t think it’s worth what you’re selling it for, you won’t make any sales.)

3. Your ability. Do you have the people, the resources and the knowledge to be able to consistently provide your products or services to your target market? Can you maintain a competitive advantage? Do you have enough manpower? Can you purchase the supplies and materials you need over the long run?

Your first step always is to create a solid business plan. Your business plan is more than an essay on “Why I deserve to get funding for my idea” however. Don’t spend all the time creating a business plan and then toss it in the bottom drawer of your desk. Your business plan should be a living, breathing roadmap that helps you make sure you’re on course and reaching the goals that you set for your business.

The second step to business survival is getting enough financing. Although the term “bootstrap entrepreneur” describes most small business owners, having enough capital to be able to keep your business afloat is vital to your survival.

When you’re creating your financial analysis of your business, make sure you’re being realistic about costs and expenditures, so that you give yourself the cushion you need to succeed.

If finding financing is a problem, either because you don’t have enough credit or equity, or there are other problems, take the time to look into the resources that are available in your community. There are a wide variety of grants and loans (including microloans) for entrepreneurs, if you know where to look.

Some great resources will be: -The Small Business Administration -Local Small Business Development Centers -Women’s Organizations -Local University or Community College -Chamber of Commerce -SCORE (The Association for Retired Executives) -Nonprofit organizations that work on economic development in your area

Use other successful business models as a guide. When you’re getting started, look around. What businesses are successful? Why? What is it they’re doing that is working? What attributes do you admire, and why? You stand a better chance of succeeding if you’re modeling someone who is already successful.

Find a mentor. Most entrepreneurs have great skills and abilities, but no one does everything well. You probably already know what your strengths and weaknesses are. (If not, there are many resources and tools that can help you figure it out!) Rather than ignoring your weaknesses, find a mentor who can help you either build your skills in your weaker areas, or offer advice for getting what you need.

If you take the time to plan to succeed, you could be creating a legacy that will be enjoyed by future generations, and that other entrepreneurs will look at as a model for building their own businesses.

The Entrepreneurial Bright and Shiny Object Syndrome Exposed

The Entrepreneurial Bright and Shiny Object Syndrome Exposed

What You Need to Know Before You Sign Up for Yet Another Program
There’s an insidious travesty happening in the entrepreneurial world and I’ve stayed silent about it long enough.

It’s time to expose what’s really happening to unsuspecting entrepreneurs and business owners when it comes to seeking the perfect answer to their business needs. You probably already know it as chasing after the bright and shiny object syndrome.

It happens when the perceived need to learn more, be more and do more outweighs the need to actually get clients and run a business.

Why The Bright & Shiny Object Syndrome Happens

New entrepreneurs, especially women, often horde a deep-seeded secret that weighs them down and prevents them from growing their business to the heights they are perfectly capable of, but often don’t realize it.

That secret is the debilitating knowing they will be exposed as a fraud.

I know this because I too had this fear years ago.

It kept me playing small.

It stopped me from stepping outside of my comfort zone.

It dictated all of my business decisions from how much to charge to how I should be positioned in my industry to whom my ideal clients were.

The thought of being exposed as a fraud far outweighed any voice of reason that declared otherwise. It was a powerful force that controlled my every move.

But I had no idea this was going on. I wasn’t consciously aware of how much my actions were based upon that one fact: Feeling like I was a fraud.

But was I really a fraud? Hardly.

My educational background and previous business skills and experience put me far above the level of many of my competitors in the web development and digital marketing space. But I still found a way to discount all of that.

It wasn’t enough.

I needed to learn more.

Clearly they know far more than I do – just look at how “successful” they are.

They know the “secret”.

So what did I do about it? I signed up for every program I could in order to find out what that secret was.

I embarked to find that perfect formula to follow. That magic system that would take me from point A to point B easily and effortlessly. That thing that would make me successful.

Once I completed these programs, THEN I’d skyrocket my success!

Not. And it’s probably not going to work for you either.

Yes, you’ll get some new insights out of the training. You’ll learn a few things along the way. But it won’t be enough.

And that’s because it’s not really what you need. Not by a long shot.

More than likely all those programs will just result in you feeling more overwhelmed and confused than ever before. How on earth are you going to find the time to implement all this, let alone understand how to do it all?

There’s only so much time in the day and wouldn’t you prefer to be working on what you’re passionate about instead? The reason why you went into business to begin with? Here’s the deal. What you really need is to start believing in yourself.

I can’t tell you how many struggling entrepreneurs I have worked with over the years. They aren’t able to reach successful heights in their business and the first (and often only) thing they will blame is themselves.

Their inner voice is screaming at them: • You don’t know enough. • You need to learn more. • You are clearly in way over your head – what were you thinking anyway? • You’re better off just quitting before you are exposed as the fraud you really are.

This may sound very familiar to you too.

So what does an aspiring entrepreneur do when they have thoughts like these? They sign up for every course, program, system, webinar, teleseminar, telesummit imaginable.

They become addicted to learning.

In their quest to no longer feel like a fraud, they embark on a mission to learn every single aspect about running a business they can. They feel they MUST learn how to: – Figure out who their ideal client is (even though they’re not sure what to do with that info once they have it) – Build a website themselves (even though technology has never been a friend of theirs) – Design their own logo and marketing materials (even though they have never had any formal training in graphic design) – Set up a sales funnel (even though they’re not really sure what that is) – Write the sales copy on their website and landing pages (Even though writing does not come easy for them) – Do Search Engine Optimization (SEO) on their website (even though they aren’t sure what that means) – Conduct webinars and teleseminars in order to launch their new program (even though they don’t have a program to launch yet) – Get on stage and be a speaker… write a book… participate in JV partnerships… hold workshops…. The list goes on and on!

What results from all of this? Entrepreneurs are spending SO much time and money on learning all of these skillsets that aren’t a part of t
